Core Web Vitals Visualizer Chrome Extension

The Core Web Vitals Visualizer is a Chrome browser extension that measures and visualizes Core Web Vitals metrics on any page you visit.

The extension collects no personal data and transmits no data to our servers. All metric collection and analysis runs entirely locally in your browser. This includes LCP, CLS, INP, FCP, TTFB measurements, layout shift overlays, render-blocking resource detection, performance experiments, and CrUX history lookups.

Specifically:

  • No browsing history is recorded or stored
  • No page content is transmitted to CoreWebVitals or any third party
  • No cookies are set by the extension
  • CrUX history data is fetched directly from Google's public CrUX API using the URL of the page you are currently viewing. This request is made from your browser directly to Google. We do not proxy or log these requests.
  • All vitals data logged to the browser console stays in your browser

The extension does not require an account and does not interact with the CoreWebVitals app or any CoreWebVitals backend service.

Log Files

CoreWebVitals follows standard practice of using server log files. These files log visitors when they visit our website. The information collected by log files includes IP addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider, date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and number of clicks. These are not linked to any personally identifiable information. The purpose is analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
